E-ring at the gym?

Hi ladies. I have not been to the gym since before I got my ring (11/1/04) and am trying to decide what to do with it during my work out.

Does anyone wear there ring at the gym? Does anyone simply put it in the locker? I go in the mornings (near work in Manhattan) so I can't leave it at home (Brooklyn) and then go put it on for work.

Re: E-ring at the gym?

Since I sweat like a man (is that tmi?) I usually have to leave it in the locker, but i'd put it inside something inside the locker so it doesn't accidently slip through to a different locker!

Re: E-ring at the gym?

I keep it on at the gym because I feel safer that it's on my finger rather than at home, but I make sure to clean it at least once a week.

Re: E-ring at the gym?

if I'm at work and go to the gym, I leave it on. If I'm going from homem then I leave it at home. I would never ever put it in a locker!!!! So many times lockers get broken into.

Re: E-ring at the gym?

I wear my ring all the time. Only taking it off to wash my crystal glasses. I'd be too nerve to have it out of eye shot. Is your ring insured? If not DEFINITELY do that. It gives you a little piece of mind (of course losing it or having it stolen will still be devastating) knowing you can 'replace' it.

I wear mine at the gym. I would NEVER leave it in my locker - those little masterlocks are way too easy to pick and I'd always be paranoid that someone was watching me put it in there.

I don't do weights though - just classes, machines and cardio. I might leave it home if I was playing around with heavy weights.

Same here! I only take it off to clean it! I even learned how to wash wine glasses with my right hand!

Re: E-ring at the gym?

i have one place i take it off and put it, a ring stand at home. so if i can't take it off and put it there, it stays on my hand, gym, work, whatever. the only time i really leave it behind is if i know i'm going to be doing something that dirty or really athletic-interactive-for example, when i play flag football.

If I go in the morning I usually leave it at home. But I almost always go in the evening, and I never take it off. The only time I take it off is at night before I go to bed.

Re: E-ring at the gym?

If you're not doing any exercises where you could bang the ring against something and damage it, I don't see the harm in leaving it on. I prefer to wear it when I go to the gym because it keeps those sketchy gym bum guys from hitting on me--not that me being all sweaty wouldn't do that anyway!

I can get away with wearing it for cardio. To keep the 'sketchy gym bum guys' and gold digger male trainers types away, I think I'll wear it. There is one trainer that has always tried to get too close to me and he even once asked me about my salary!!!! I think he trolls the gym trying to find a 'sugar mamma'.

I always wear my gloves when I lift weights and I think my setting is low enough so my ring will fit inside the gloves.

Thanks ladies. I've decided to wear it at the gym.

Oh, and it is insured but I do not feel safe leaving it in the locker.

ETA - My friend a work only takes her ring off at home. I'll go with that idea to be safe.

I feel safer with it on. I only take it off when I sleep and clean the house. I wear gloves at the gym so it doesn't get damaged anyway.
