I chose my e-ring and do like it. It's a gorgeous soliatire set on a channel set band.
But I don't loooooooooooove it - especially since it was sized down - I didn't like the craftmanship of the resizing job ...
So I was considering a plain knife-edge band solitaire instead.
I am able to exchange it for a solitaire, an entirely different ring .... should I? I think I would finally be happy.
I also could get it reset into the same channel set setting I have but with good craftmanship. However this would not be until after the wedding as there is no time to do it before.
Also, please don't quote this as I will likely delete before FH peeks.

you would do this without your FH knowing about this?

God no, he knows all about it and just wants me to be happy. And since I am going from bling bling channel set to solitaire there would be no hiding it!!

I had a tiffany solitaire setting was had mine reset to a channel setting b/c I had a hard time finding a band that sat flush with my ring. ironically although I like my ring, I don't love mine either, I think my band is too thick for the stone. I thought about having it reset again but still haven't decided.

OMG you hit the nail on the head, the band is too thick for stone, makes the stone look smaller than it is. And it's hard to keep those little channels clean ... Ugh ... was your solitaire on the knife edge band? You didn't like it? Doesn't it sit nicely with the channel eternity band?

There are pictures in my album...of the old and the new. Honestly, from your pictures, I think your ring is perfect!!!! the only thing that I would change on yours to make it my DREAM ring is princess cut channel set stones instead of round, otherwise, I'm being totally honest, your ring is my dream ring. I don't think your band is too thick at all and from the pictures, your stone looks huge.
I'm not sure what the knife cut edge us but using my imagination, I'd say mine was. My issue was my ring was set VERY low and nothing sat flush and I'm too OCD for that. I have a friend that has the tiffany round solitaire but hers is set higher and she was able to find a ton of bands that looked great with it.
Good luck whatever you decide.

Well that is the other issue!! My ring now is set low but the Tiffany solitaire is higher than the Tiffany solitaire in channel set band ... so the solitaire will be higher which I like ... ugh, too many choices!!!!! Yours is huge too! Holy bling bling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I changed my ring when I got it. FH was not so happy about it at the time and then he was okay with it, Then he changed it a third time and loves my ring now.. The two side stones I took out I used in my wedding band which i=I think is amazing
you are wearing it. make sure you are happy !!!! But def check with FH

As long as your FH is agreement go for it. I did the same thing with my wedding band. The band I bought ended up not being exactly like I had hope and they had said so FH understood and went with me to get a new wedding band.

Re: E-ring dilemma, am I a bad person?
see i picked out a ring because it was what we could afford and now my family is passing on diamonds on to me and i am like maybe i can use the diamonds in my ring as accent stones and use the diamond i am getting from my family as the main stone (it's like a carat and a half and my ering is less then a carrot) and make it more of what I would like design wise by making into a replica vintage style ring.
BUT DH doesn't seem to happy about it at all so i am very unsure of what to do. It's not like i am exchanging it just adding to it and putting into a diff. setting. But is a ring worth making your fh or dh unhappy? for me no.

If that's what you really want go for it. I'm sure he wants you to love it, its definitely a big investment.

if you do change you should keep your original band setting and add to it for your wedding band

Re: E-ring dilemma, am I a bad person?
I just recently had my E ring setting changed from a white gold band with two trillion diamonds to a pave eternity band. FH was very supportive but I did stress over it alot. I felt bad to change my ering. I finally decided to go for it. To be honest now that I have my new setting and a wedding band to match I couldnt be happier. As a matter of fact i wish I had done it sooner. Remember you are the one who looks at the ring everyday. If you are not happy with what you see then it can be frustrating.
I kept my old setting and had a aqua marine stone set in it. Now I will wear it as a right hand ring and it will be my something blue on my wedding day.
just something to think about. Good Luck!

It's an exchange at Tiffany so I don't think they will let me keep anything. They are nice enough to let me exchange nearly 10 months after it was bought! To me the fact that it was the ring he proposed with doesn't matter as much as my wedding band being the one I wear for the rest of my life. The ring was something I chose initially and the one we ordered they couldnt' get so they ended up giving him a replacement anyway from another branch of the store. Plus it's not blessed. He doesn't mind anyway, he literally just wants me to shut up about it ... we are going to go tomorrow to look again to be sure before making big decision. Thanks for all your advice everyone!
