E-ring help

E-ring help

Has anyone had to have the setting changed? I have a space with any wedding band I try on and don't want a wedding band with a curve in it. Does anyone have a clue how much changing my setting could cost?

To be honest it depends on the setting you pic. you can go with anything from a tiffany setting which can be a few hundred for gold to and expensive setting with side stones some stores if you buy your setting there they will reset your diamond for free. your ring is beautiful you could always wear your rings on different hands.

Thanks! I forgot I have a picture of my ring up! I want the ring to look the same I just need them to make it a little higher so I don't have the space between the e-ring and wedding band. I want to wear them on the same hand b/c on my right hand I wear one of my grandmothers ring.

That's so sweet that you wear your grandmothers ring. I'm sure you can find one that's set higher you may even want to get it made. There are plenty of jewelers that can make one if thaey don't have one in stock shop around.

I had my ring reset when I first got it because it was my fiance's grandmother's. I already had all the stones so I had to pay for the metal (14k white gold) and the labor. It was 250$
Just a thought... it may be more cost effective to have a wedding ring customized to fit your e ring.

your ring is gorgeous and i think it would look great with the band flush, and not going around the center stone- bring it to a few jewelers and see what they say. I went to Gennaros jewelers in bellmore to have my ring re-sized and i could not be happier with their costumer service and quality of work.

They can create one to fit around your e-ring! I wouldn't change your setting

Re: E-ring help

Thanks everyone! We are going to go today to price it out. I don't want to change my setting, but I think I have to. I am not a fan of curved custom wedding bands (and I already have my wedding band that I love!). I want my setting to look the same just be changed so my wedding band and e-ring have no space between them.

I should have updates later and I will post some pictures.

I have a friend that has a ring just like yours and she didn't want a curved ring either so she got one bonded to her actual ring. You can't wear them separately, but it looks really cool and it just one piece.. HTH!

I have seen that done and I agree it can look great, but I want to be able to wear them separately... I think I am just going to have my setting changed. I just hope it isn't going to cost an arm and a leg.

I also can not wear my E-ring with a band, I was going to change the setting but I love my setting because it is so original, so I am just getting a big thick blingy band and wearing it alone and wearing my e-ring on my other hand...I also don't wear my E-ring everyday so that's why this works for me...but I get your dilemma esp if you never take your E-ring off.

Re: E-ring help

I spoke with one place today and they told me the change I need is very small and could be done for $100.. I am going to go to my jeweler this week and see what they say. I feel so much better and I am so happy that I can keep my setting!

They basically have to cut the basket off and put it back on shaved down a little and on top of the band.

Thanks everyone for all your help and input.
