I would check the internet- check out blue nile- I know a lot of people that have gotten their e-rings from there and they have a nice assortment of carat sizes, settings, cuts, etc.

Also- try Zales as you can always 'trade up' later.

And of course, if you dare- check out the diamond district... I personally wasn't able to deal with it.. (too much pressure from the sales staff at a lot of the stores) but you certainly can get a nice deal there as well.

The center diamond probably won't be large if you get a quality one and are trying to stay in that price range. The largest would probably be from one of the mall chains, but sometimes those look a bit yellow. With baguettes you are probably going to get a center stone of .4 or so to stay in that price range (depending on the size of the baguettes, etc.). I found this on amazon which looks nice. I dont know what the size of the center stone is....You could try online to see what you could expect for the $.

I got mine at Whitehall Jewelers and only went there because it snowed that night and we couldnt make it where we wanted to go( they were in the mall) I saw about 5 rings I loved and all were less then $2500....I didnt get the best Quality ring but the same quality diamond was $2000 more at a private jeweler we went to first...I have almost a carat marq. center stone with two side marq diamond and bag.'s on sides and it was in your range and I LOVE IT!
