E-Shoot Places

E-Shoot Places

We are planning on taking our E-pics in October and are looking for some ideas. I am going back and fourth with the photographer but want to ask here as well.

Does anyone have any good ideas for an e-shoot? Ideally we'd love a place where a permit isnt needed.

I really like DUMBO but not sure if FH would be okay with traveling that far. Anyone know of a place thats dumbo-ish?

open to all ideas :)

You should definitely check out Gantry Plaza State Park. It's in Long Island City and has a gorgeous view of the NYC skyline & bridge. It's where FH proposed

I know you don't want where a permit isn't needed, but we are getting them done in October as well and we went with the planting fields, paperwork is minimal and it was $100.

We took ours at Brookwood Hall in east Islip.. Small park with a little lake and cute woodsy paths. Our other options was Northport harbor which is gorgeous but fh and I aren't really boat people and I think it would've been weird with boats all around us lol. But there's a cute old village with the original trolley tracks and everything. Super cute photo ops :)

Gantry Plaza Park is very 'DUMBO' and it's in LIC which is easier to get to from LI. Beautiful views of the city. They just put in cute hammocks and nice wooden benches and chaise lounges that would be cute for pictures. I highly recommend it! Plus you can walk down Vernon Blvd where there are cute little restaurants and cafes for those type of pictures. Parking shouldn't be an issue either.

We're doing the planting fields. In a perfect world I would've done Astoria and Gantry Plaza/LIC since we met and live in Astoria (and got engaged at Penthouse 808 at the top of the Ravel hotel in LIC). But for some reason our photographer, Silverfox, charges $500 to step foot in the 5 boroughs. My friend who is an amateur photographer is going to do some pics of us this spring for fun and to display additionally at the wedding. If you do end up in LIC, grab a drink at Penthouse 808. The views are STUNNING.
