Hi everyone. This is my first time posting. We just set our date with my church, March 11, 2006, and the next item on the list is finding a place.
Where are you having your wedding and approx how much a plate are you paying? I am getting a real big headache trying to find a reasonable place to have the reception. I don't want to pay more than $80.00 a plate. Let me know if tax+grat is included in the price since I've been tricked on that once already.
Happy Planning!

I'm getting married at Westbury Manor. I think after tax and gratuity it is somewhere in the ballpark of $85 per person. I think Swan Club gave me a quote of 60 per person for Saturday morning (not including tax and gratutity). Good luck!

You can look into Chatuea La Mer. I'm paying arounf $67 per plate in May; it's even cheaper in the earlier months. (It's right on the water and is gorgeous) Swan Club is about $65-70 a plate I believe. (Their gardens are beautiful.) Look into /www.weddingfacilitiesandservices.com. The list tons of LI wedding halls and have all their pricing info for you.
Good luck!

Hooray I finally have a date twin! Depending on your location needs, and size of party, you should be able to find something around your target cost. Just don't be afraid to look at locations that aren't the most popular. Don't be afraid to negociate either.

Re: Early 2006 brides
If you are looking for that price range, I think that a Friday night/Sunday wedding is the best bet. Try Fox Hollow or Westbury Manor. I am getting married in January and got a really good deal. Make sure you tell the hall your budget. I found that many halls will work with you and throw things in to get you to book. The one bad thing I encountered when hall shopping was being pressured into booking on the spot. Just because the price is good doesn't mean it is the right place for you. Good luck!

I booked the North Ritz Club for March 18, 2006. It was $80 pp. and its really nice there. They have a waterfall outside and a pond with a fountain. Its also only one wedding at a time. You should check it out.
