As you all know, due to my fmil's illness - we are having a small ceremony in a few weeks....
I don't want to place any emphasis on myself - I just wanted quick suggestions as to what I should wear on this day. I don't want to over do it or make it about myself, but I want to respect the church and my vows and dress appropriately.
any suggestions?

I would say to look for a white cocktail dress.

a friend of mine wore a white suit to her civil ceremony and looked very lovely. i think wearing white is a good idea, as long as it is more 'subdued' than a wedding dress

A white or ivory dress. Look through the clearance sections actually-lots of summer dresses on sale because we're hitting the fall. I just bought a really classy ivory sundress from Ann Taylor Loft that I had been eyeing since the beginning of the summer. 40 bucks as opposed to 130.

Wow - I can't believe what I found - I found a beautiful classy white dress for $25 on clearance in Dress Barn - it looks so amazing too I almost prefer it to my regular wedding dress=--well thats going too far but it is so perfect and comfty too! lol
