Are there any brides out there having morning/afternoon weddings? I am and I am getting nervous and am considering changing the time. I dont know if I am going to feel rushed that morning or wont have enough time to get ready, etc. Any feedback from brides having early weddings would be helpful .. Thnx

Re: Early weddings betw. noon and 6pm
My ceremony is at 3pm. I think I will start getting ready at like 8 am--if i can sleep the night before lol
I am getting married at 12:30...I, too, went through the feelings of wanting to change it...but I have second guessed EVERYTHING I have planned
5:00-6:00 get up 7:00-8:30 hair and makeup 8:30-9:00 wait for everyone finishing hair and make-up 9:00-9:30 leave for hall 10:00-12:00 pictures 12:30 ceremony!!
I'm a teacher and get up at 5 am everyday anyway, so it doesn't bother me...the day time goes with my theme anyway (although I picked the theme AFTER picking the time) Summer garden.

Our ceremony was at 10am!! I got up at 5:30...not that I slept much the night before...the makeup girl and hair girl came around 6:30am...only my sister and I were getting hair and makeup done. we were done around 8:15am...the photographer was coming at 8:45...got dresed in about 15 mims...took pictures and left mfor the church around 9:40am. It definatly was a long morning but you should judge the time by how many people have to get ready.
Good Luck! Lisa

Re: Early weddings betw. noon and 6pm
We too had an early morning Mass (11:30 a.m.) followed by an afternoon reception (1-6 p.m.). It was really nice because it was a gorgeous day out!! I wouldn't change a thing about our day!!
I got up at 6:30 a.m., like I do for work, and had a hair and make-up appointment at the salon at 7 a.m. I was back home at my parents house by 9, and had time ot kill beore the photographer showed up at 10 a.m. I don't think it was stressful at all, and I certainly didn't feel rushed!!

Mine is at 1:00, and we have to be at the hall at 11:00 for pics and a quick rehearsal. And, I have a hair/makeup appt at 9:00, so it's going to be really tight! But, as long as I'm prepared and 'let go' I know I'll be fine.

My invitation time is 11:30 am, and I will be having the hair and makeup people at my house at 5:30 am so I am ready to take pictures at 7:30 am! Yes, I am taking my pictures with my fiance and all family portraits before the ceremony!

Oh no, after reading all of your replies, I think my hair and makeup appt for 9:00 is going to cut it too close. I need to be at the Watermill at 11:00. I am using Enchante, but they don't have earlier appts. I don't have to travel too far, but it's still a 10 minute drive. My sister is the only one who is getting her hair done there with me with another stylist so, I don't have to wait for anyone else. Is this goingt o be a problem, I'm worried now.....

You're starting really early! Do you have a large family and a lot of pictures to take? We have the same invite time, I originally thought my pictures would start at 9 or 9:30. And I have a large family! How long did your photographer tell you they needed?

Re: Valenia
Well, the photographer is coming to my house first to do my pictures and my immediate family. Then we head to the reception hall. We have to be done with all pictures by 10:45 am, because thats when we have our rehearsal and ketubah signing. No, I don't have a big family, just a thorough photographer. He suggested the times to start based on his experiences.

Nina- I would make the appt. earlier (maybe 8) You never know what you may encounter. Traffic, mistakes, tons of buttons to button on your dress, you name it.

Re: Early weddings betw. noon and 6pm
Our ceremony starts at 11:30. Cocktail hr. 12-1, Reception 1-5. At first when we booked the wedding I was really stressed that we wouldn't have enough time for everything. I'm still a little stressed about it, but you girls made me feel a little better. I figure I'm going to wake up at 6am, go to the hall to get my hair and makeup done probably at 7am (ceremony is at the hall). Get dressed at the hall (Probably 8am). Then taking pics before the ceremony (Probably at 9am.) Am I a little off on the time? I don't want to really feel rushed. What do you guys think?

Re: Early weddings betw. noon and 6pm
Our ceremony is at 10 am and our reception is at 1pm to 6pm. I am the only person that will be having my hair done on the day of. I think once you stay on schedule all will be well.
