Im not looking to do anything drastic. I just want to be healthier over all and lose a few pounds. What diets have worked for you ?

What diet is easiest really depends on the person. The diet I've had the most success with was the WW flex points. You can still eat the foods you like, there are no across the board restrictions, it's all about making choices and moderation.

Cons: You really have to write down everything you eat, and it's easy to get lazy and slack

The 'Don't Diet Diet'

It is really simple and VERY effective. It sounds sarcastic, and it is somewhat BUT read on...

Basically use common sense when picking foods with a little research to learn about foods.

Find out what your current diet looks like. Don't change things for 3 days BUT write down what you are eating in a note book. Be HONEST because it for your eyes only. You should jot down the times you ate it too.

If you are eating a butter roll and a 20 oz coffee for breakfast - you can try a 16 oz and a fruit salad.

If you are eating twinkies and a Pepsi for a snack, you can have nuts and a bottle of water.

Dinner is Chinese? There are plenty of heathy and better choices. Turkey Breast, chicken Breast. Lean steak. A LOT OF CHOICES!!

Want some sweets for a TV Snack? Well eat the ice cream but grab some light or fat free, even frozen yogurt. Don't add the syrup or wipped cream.

White Bread? Eat the 9-grain
White Rice? Brown is better
Fried Chicken? Grilled or steamed is yummy!
American Cheese? Nah, eat the provolone

Seriously, Atkins, weight watchers etc etc etc etc are effective and that cannot be denied BUT making some simple changes and better choices can be JUST AS EFFECTIVE and there are no real restriction other then be more sensible.

I found Usana Health Sciences products to be great. They have a whole product line of Optimizers and Macro Optimizers. I couple that with the nutritional supplements everyday and I feel so much better. If you goto www.healthyny.usana.com the website is chock full of information. They ahve a free health assessment that you can take, with suggestions afterwards to achieve optimal health.

Good luck.

Re: easiest/most effective diet

i dont diet i just try to eat 20 grams of fat or less a day no calorie counting and it forces you to really make choices on what will satisfy your craving.what I mean by that is for instance im a big chip eater so instead of grabbing doritoes i got a hot air popcorn make and i spray all natural butter spray (no fat) and kraft cheese shake or molly mcbutter shake and that satisfies my craving ......yeah its alot of carbs but i dont believe in eliminating a certain food group from your diet.and when i want a sweet i usually grad 1 peppermint patty to substitute it for a snickers .And i always have pizza sundays me a my fi eat all day sunday and back on schedule for monday . this works for me i lost 65 pounds and have kept it off for 5 years now.dont get me wrong I teach dance and i run ,i am very active so i can splurge sometimes knowing i will burn most or all the crap i eat .i hope this helps good luck
