Re: East End Hotels
I would pick the cheaper one for the guests, esp since it has free transportation, and would totally pay to keep the bar open. unless the other hotel is sooo much nicer?

Re: East End Hotels
I too would go with the cheaper hotel. Its the hotel we used for our guests (the holiday inn), while DH and I didn't find it super comfortable, its was decorated nice, very clean, and the service was good.
Plus the shuttle worked out fabulous, such a short ride to Giorgios, our guests definitely appreciated this.

Re: East End Hotels
Honestly, I would do both. Doesn't cost you anything, why not? I have blocks at two hotels and I was going to do a third at Hilton bc I have a ton of OOT people but they were booked up.
I would do this soon, I thought the hotels were booked up for Oct already. Since you are at the end they might have some...

Re: East End Hotels
I reserved at East End- I've stayed there before (after a Giorgio's wedding) and I thought the rooms were nice and clean and large. We know a lot of people will be staying so the shuttle comes in handy. We are thinking about doing the bar after the reception too, but they have a large room everyone can hang out and we may just get bottles and beer for everyone instead of paying the $100 + drinks. If you go with the breakfast buffet the next day-the food was pretty good and the room is very large to accomodate allt he guest that are staying over. Personally the price and shuttle alone is worth booking.
But like someone mentioned it doesnt hurt to reserve rooms at both hotels!

We also held the bar at Holiday Inn, but hardly anyone used it. I had a late reception though, by the time we got back it was 1am already. I think its good though, its cheap enough.

Re: East End Hotels
I booked the holiday inn simply because of the transportation.
I went to visit, it seems nice (truely it is only one night-but you want everyone to be happy)
I thought it was shady about the bar.....we're still deciding if it's worth it.....
If you find anything else that sounds good, please let me know.
