East Wind Estate Wedding Review!
I went to my friends wedding yesterday at the East Wind Estate. We had a really great time.
The ceremony was outside. She wound up with a beautiful day, the sun came out just as the ceremony was starting. My only complaint, and this is only if you are getting married there, and doing it outside was:
There is this white archway (it's not covered) that everyone walks through. The EW has it very heavily decorated with flowers, and, although it looks beautiful, you cannot see the bride and groom during the ceremony. Just something to keep in mind. We sat about halfway back on the outside end of the row, and we couldn't really see them.
The cocktail hour was great. It was held in two different rooms, well, 3, if you count outside. The two inside rooms had all windows and you could see into the other room. The first inside room (closer to the outside area) had the bar, and a the pasta and carving stations. The inside room had two other stations, one had chicken, and beef, and fish. The other, I did not visit, but, it looked similar to the first. And then there was the center, with the fruit, veggies and meat.
I had some pasta, chicken, beef and cheese. All were delicious.
The rest of the reception was great. The centerpieces were very high, and full of roses, and sunflowers, and other flowers(I am posting a pic). The florist she worked with is also the florist I am using, it is owned by a high school friend and her 2 sisters, they're vendors on here. Towers in Nesconsett.
I had the filet mignon, FH had stuffed shrimp, we both loved it. Then, they came around with trays of everything (including veggies and other sides) to see if anyone wanted seconds!
For dessert, they brought pastry to the table, the wedding cake, and there was an ice cream bar, which I stayed away from, I had eaten enough, but, it looked glorious.
They gave a small wine bottle as a favor, and they had different kinds, so, if you didn't like white, red was available, which was nice. Also, they did something else that was really cute. They made an announcement that there was a little gift in everyones car. We got to the car, and there was a scratch off, in a little clear envelope! It was a really nice touch!
Any questions, feel free to ask!
