East Wind may be the one . . .!

Anybody out there having their wedding at east wind or any imput about it? (food, service etc.)
I love IT! going to tasting on thurs.- wanted to know what you all had to say! Thanks a bunch!

I went to a wedding there in july. Food was good, they offered us seconds. The maitre d and assistant were terrific! The wedding ran very smooth, we were at the country gardens. Which one are you looking at?

Oh the only thing was...
one of the servers dropped my FH's entire dinner on him. His suit was ruined, but Eastwind is supposed to be paying for it.

I'm getting married (ceremony and reception) at the Estate on Saturday and have my rehearsal right before the showcase on Thursday.

I am very happy with everything and have been there a few times for tasting (and went to a wedding there in May at the Gardens, which was great).

Just beware that if you want to arrive there early for photos (earlier than the 30 minutes they allow) you have to pay $250 a half hour for the time.

And, all vendors who are on the premises (photographers, video, dj, etc.) have to be fed, and they charge you for each one (half price, if you've met your minimum). I thought the wording in the contract meant if we wanted to feed the vendors it would cost half, but they said no, they have to be fed, that's why the stat it in the contract. If we had known that when we booked, we may not have hired a band (feed a DJ is a lot less expensive than a 7 piece band).
Just something to be aware of when you are negotiating your final details.

i've been to two weddings there and both were really good.
I was in the bridal party when my girlfriend got married there 2 years ago.
It was awesome.
They had us in a seperate room and brought us so much food to munch on while we were taking turns posing for pictures.
The food was good and there was so much of it.
Very pretty setting.
If it wasn't so far out East, I probably would have considered it for my own reception.

We booked the new East Wind Grand Ballroom, for August 2003... I can't wait to see what it looks like when finally finished. The food is great, the service is great, I have been to other affairs there, and the ambiance contributed to our decision. Hope everyone else has had good experiences as well...good luck ShellMarie, the Estate is beautiful, we want to hear all about it when you get back!

Thanks! I know East Wind will do a fabulous job (now if they can only control the weather as well as they do everything else!).
I'll let you all know how everything went in about 3 weeks from today!
