Is it true that at the East Wind they do not allow you use any color table linens but the green? I have heard this but am unsure if it is true! I don't like the green table linens and am hoping that they would give me other options.

I think it depends on what building you use, Napkins are always your choice.

in the estates we were told green was the bottom and you pick the top layer over that.. lace, solid i think in either white or ivory. the napkins are the color you want.

Re: East Wind Question!
Hey I'm geting married in September at the estate. They told me they will not change the green. However, they said that if I wanted to hire an outside linen company to come in and put lines down for example on the tables, or on the chairs, and then for them totake them up after I could do that. Eastwind themselves will only change the top for you.

Re: East Wind Question!
I think it is totally unfair. The cheesiest places even offer a choice of linens. I think you guys should puch for it, I know I am. We are already paying a lot, I don't think we should be charged extra for this. Sorry, but I am mad about it.

I am a little upset about this myself! Are those even the types of chairs that you could put chair slipcovers over...and if they are will they even allow you to rent slipcovers from somewhere and cover the chairs? I can deal with the green walls, and even the bottom green tablecloth...but the chairs are a little to much green for my taste. It is pretty unfair that we are dishing out all this money for our wedding and can't even have our choice of linens etc. It is true that even cheesy reception halls give you a choice!

I am at the Inn and there is no chioce of linnens at all. Its Ivory and thats it. It has to match the decor of the hotel I was told. But I have no problem with it...my main colors are white, ivory and opalecent white anyhow.

Girls, please express your discontent with the catering manager. I really feel that if we all say something they might do something about it instead of charging us. It is truly unfair.

Re: East Wind Question!
I am going to speak to the catering manager about this. It seems to be an unreasonable request. It is our wedding, it is our family and friends that will be viewing the room, and it is our money that is paying for it all! I don't believe they should have the right to tell us we can't decorate the room as we wish after all the money we are already putting into this. It is unfair for us to have to put more money out there to have our room look the way we want it to. Every other catering hall on LI that I have heard of gives you choices!!!

GREAT!!! I know it may sound silly but it IS our weddings and we SHOULD be able to have the colors we want! And tablecloths are not cheap to rent!!!

Re: East Wind Question!
Sorry to tell ya, if you did not have somethin about that written in your contract, more than likely, it is not going to change. The country gardens has a theme in itself...Country Gardens....thats why there is Green..it goes along with the room decor....there is no changing it unless you rent from another linen company. You do have a choice of your napkin colors, but they specifically tell you when you meet with them about the green linens. If green linens is going to keep you from booking it, then maybe look around..you want to absoultely thrilled with your choices, and speaking to any manager, etc I doubt will make much of a difference..think of all the people who have booked in the past year, knowing it is going to be green..maybe even making themselves a garden theme, and working in the green...
It may be a big deal to you, but beleive me, your guests will never know the difference...I highly doubt they will change the linens...now the Inn is a little more elegant, and has the huge chandelier and a few other features, and white/ivory goes along with that...
But as far as the Country Gardens, Green it is.

Have you even visited and spoke with a catering person? Your first post said you 'heard'....you cannot believe all you hear....everyone has their preferences, and maybe some of us like how it is....thus, the reason we booked it...

WHy are you people getting angry. I am sure the green looks nice, but maybe other people wanted it to match the bm dresses. Its a personal preference!

I am not saying I am angry...just making a point....everyone has their own preferences...some halls offer other things than others, so just make sure to take that into consideration when making the ultimate decision of where to hve your reception...thats all I was saying...sorry if you interpreted it the wrong way...and if it was an issue when you singed your contract, maybe you should have had them put something in there that said you will rent the colors you want or you might want to do that...
GOod Luck Either way!

Re: East Wind Question!
I used to work at East Wind, and no, you can have ivory colored linens. I think that ivory complements the room very well.
