East Wind Room Block

East Wind Room Block

Does anyone have any info on room blocks at East Wind? Is East Wind closer to Giorgio's then the Riverhead hotels? I have a bunch of guests coming from OOT and want to make things as easy as possible for them.

Re: East Wind Room Block

East wind is prob about 10-15 minutes from Georgios, very expensive rooms though. Here are some of the requirements that they emailed me:

I can put together a 5 room block for you. The discounted block rate would be $269.00. To do a block of rooms you would need to leave a 10% block deposit off of the 5 rooms which would be $134.50. Your Group Block Contract requires a 10% deposit based on the number of rooms you block. Once those initial blocked rooms have been reserved, you can add more rooms to your block without any further deposit required. The rooms added will be based upon availability in the hotel. One month prior to your event, your block will be reviewed. If there are no rooms left, and all your blocked rooms have been reserved with proper deposits, then your Group Block Deposit will be refunded. Any rooms that have not been reserved will be released and the Inn will make
every attempt to sell the rooms. Once the released rooms have been sold, your deposit will be refunded to you. Should the released rooms go unsold by your event date you will forfeit the 10% block deposit. The Rooms Division Department will contact you prior to one month before your event to review your Block status with you. Should you need to cancel your Group Block for any reason, your deposit will be held until the blocked rooms have been sold. Once we receive notice in writing from you that the Group Block is cancelled we will release the rooms and the Inn will make every attempt to sell these rooms for you. You will be responsible for the payment of any rooms that go unsold, or that are sold below market value.

Check out Hotel Indigo. I stayed there recently for a wedding at East Wind and it was really nice and we got breakfast... The couple arranged for a shuttle bus to transport people to and from the RH. HTH!

Thanks ladies. I'm surprised how expensive East Wind is after the discount for the room block!

I'm an EW bride too! Riverhead isn't too far for guests...we really like the Hilton Garden Inn there (although its expensive to book the shuttles through them). The new Hyatt was extremely expensive (even more so than EW itself!) The Holiday Inn was a bit more than the Hilton, but offer a free shuttle for 13 people. Not sure about the Hotel Indigo, but if you get some information if you could share it with me, that would be amazing!!

I'm actually getting married at Giorgio's but I thought a room block at East Wind would be better for guests. I will certainly share the info I get with you though!
