East Wind....estate or southampton?

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions and/or recomendations as to which is a beter place to have a reception at east wind. I am deciding between the estate and the southampton! any input would be appreciated! thanks!

I've been to weddings at both & I wanted the estate but we weren't getting the pricing we wanted & FH wasn't that into it..I think it's a matter of taste. I didn't like the southampton room because the bride & groom were so far away & so was the dance floor so anything that was going on was hard for us to see. I dunno I just love that room in the estate!! go for it!! haha

The Estate - we liked setup better, for both cocktail hour and the actual party. Dance floor is in the middle of everyone, instead of just on one end.

My sister's wedding was in the hall that was off to the side, next to the Inn. It has the gardens and the bridge - maybe that's the Southampton? Her ceremony and cocktail hour were like something out of a movie with the beautiful backdrop and gazebo. The reception area's decor was a little too 'country cottage' but it was a nice size for her 120 guests and the dance floor was always full, which made for a nice party.

I think you are describing their 'Country Gardens' building

I didn't like the estate when we went in to visit. It had a moldy smell to it.

I love the estate but I might be slightly partial to it....getting married there in 17 days...

What I liked about the estate -

Plenty of seating at the cocktail hour

I like that the dance floor is in the middle

I like that it is in a separate building and you have the entire estate to yourself.

Love the outside ceremony location and the ease of slipping right into cocktail hour.

The only things I can honestly say I didn't like where the colors of the chairs and the mens bathroom.

I am also getting married there (can't wait to hear about your wedding). I didn't look at the men's bathroom, but don't stress about it - what men will really pay attention to it. None that I know!!!

And good point on seating for cocktail hour.

I would go with The Estate. I personally think the setup in Southampton is bad. The dance floor is in the front of the room...so anyone seated in the back cant see a thing!
