My sister recently got engaged and is looking to have her wedding Jan/Feb 2009. She's looking at East Wind Caterers. Has anyone been or had a wedding there? Any comments?
Anything would help.
Thanks.

Re: East Winds Catering
We looked at East Wind. The things I liked about it was the hotel on site, the things I didnt like was the fact that there could be up to 3 weddings at a time. There are people in gym shorts/spa clothes walking around in the lobby as your guests arrive (they have a big spa). When I went to a wedding there I thought the food was average. This is only MY opinion though, some girls love it, just wasnt for me.

Re: East Winds Catering
You should post this on the 07 & 08 Boards!!!
I went to look at East Wind and FH and I fell in love instantly! The Estate at EW was gorgeous and everything we wanted. However, it was well over an hour away and it would have been wayyy too much for our guests (we have alot of older guests) to drive all the way out there on a friday night. but the place is great and they have everything right there on site!

Re: East Winds Catering
Although there can be up to 3 weddings going on at one time, each wedding has their own grounds. So when I am having my wedding at the Country Gardens, I wont be seeing the bride or anybody else from the Estate. Its not like a regular hall where there is one big lobby and then 3 rooms to go from there.
I have never heard a negative thing about East Wind. Even when I went to bok other vendors that had nothing to do with EW, they would rave about how they love working with them. And what would they have to gain from saying that? And although I havent had my wedding yet, so far working with them has been great!

Re: East Winds Catering
We went to a wedding there last March. If there were other weddings going on at the same time, u would never know! As a guest, we LOVED that the hotel is on-site. Also, the bride and groom gave a day-after brunch in the restaurant and it was great.

Re: East Winds Catering
I looked at EW and was going to book for the Country Gardens, but realized it was just too small for us (and not enough options if it rained). Then I looked at the Inn because I was DETERMINED to have our wedding at EW. But I didn't like that the weddings really were not separate from the actual hotel. The bridal suite is feet away from guest rooms. I also didn't love the decor of the ballrooms at the Inn. My heart was with the Estate, but our wedding just wasn't big enough. So I didn't go with them. but I've heard nothing but WONDERFUL things about them, which is why I wanted our wedding there so badly!

Re: East Winds Catering
i've been there for lots of events before, and my family is friends with the owner, kenny. they are incredible with service, and food. i loove the two rooms that are separate from the hotel. two of my cousins got married in the smaller one, and my fh's sister in the larger one. all incredible events! good luck!

Re: East Winds Catering
I just got married there in Nov and it was AMAZINGGGGG!!!!! We got married in the estate which is a private buidling so there are no other brides or guests anywhere near your wedding. Everyone that worked there were great, I heard great things about the food (I had 2 bites of pasta and 2 sips of champagne and that's all I ate or drank all night!) but DH loved the food! Everything was just perfect! FM me with any questions

Re: East Winds Catering
My cousins sweet 16 was at the Country Gardens a few years ago. The food was nice. My other cousin is doing her sweet 16 there this month. We went and looked at the Country Gardens. We were taken in a golf cart to see the place and then left to walk back to our car at the main building in the rain. That turned us off and decided not to use them because of that.

You have mentioned this before,. And make it seem like miles.,, it is not and they didnt have to drive you in the first plac. Maybe they had other things to do besides wait for you to look around.
I am glad that you found a place to suit your needs.
East Wind is the place that we chose for the following reasons-
-Great food! ((go to their next showcase) -Service during the planning and then the booking process was impecable. We recieved prompt calls back any time we have had a question and plenty of feedback or ideas when it came to our day. -Searching on this site,, talking to past brides and seeing that they were nothing but please about how their wedding was handled. -The Inn itself (where our reception is) is so pretty. -Hotel accomodations on site with the spa -Day after brunch capability for the OOT
If there is anything else I can help you with please let me know.

I am getting married at East Wind on 6/28/08. I am getting married at the Country Gardens part. They can do 3 weddings at a time, but since each part is a seperate location on the grounds you don't see the other brides. I have had no issues with them so far. The grounds are amazing.
