Wow! I was thinking the same thing - where did you get the pattern. I'd love to make something like that for myself!

Re: Easter Sewing project

Thanks so much girls,
it was our first attempt.
Was in SC visiting sister, and went to hancock fabrics to buy everything. There is a site online, no stores around here.

We did use a pattern as a guide but we did not follow it to the T, since we knew what kinda of bag we wanted.

We picked the fabrics out ourselves, I just love Toile.

A bag pattern is pretty simple actually, I wish I could draw it on here for you.

We bought a McCalls pattern for $1.99. Some patterns we liked were like $15.99, there was no way I was spending that much.

thanks again,
I have a old sewing machine at home, think I am going to get a NEW one for my bday, BUT may actually get it early bc my bday isnt until June.

bye
kimberly

PS If anyone wants the # of the McCalls pattern, Please let me know I will look when I go home, I have the package there.

Its really a great bag!! I too think pattern prices are way out of hand. I have stopped making a lot of my clothes because honestly its cheaper and eaiser to buy!! If you could get the pattern # I would greatly appriciate that! I don't follow patterns to a 'T' also! Thank You!

What kind of sewing machine do you have?

I am trying to decide what one to buy,
right now I am btw two models
a singer (my sisters machine) and a kenmore (one of the machines in my sewing class).

any help would be great?

Re: Easter Sewing project

I have an antique singer! my great grandmother was a seamstress. Its still going strong. When I got it, it just needed a few repairs. I had a kenmore before I was given this one! I truly had nothing but problems with the kenmore!

I have a kenmore too - the backstitch feature broke, they repaired it and it broke again. i wouldn't buy Kenmore again..having said that I don't use it enough to validate a new one
