Hey everyone! Today is my mom's birthday!! We'll be having dinner and cake on Sunday and since I've been so into it lately, I've been asked to do the baking. YIKES! Anyway, I'm looking for a cake recipe, but something simple since I have little time on Saturday to bake/decorate. I had seen a couple recipes, has anyone tried these and can tell me how they came out or recommend a tasty, but still pretty simple recipe for me to try out?! TIA everyone!!!
um... its not on there, but pistachio cake.. super easy and SOOO good.
yellow cake mix jello brand pistachio pudding
mix cake mix based on directions on box. add powdered pudding mix stir well (it'll turn light green) bake how cake directions say
ice with creamcheese or buttercream icing
OR for something really simple... just powdered sugar is PERFECT.

I looooooooooooooove to bake. Half the stuff I got for my shower was baking supplies. Lol! But ask me to cook?? Forget about it... we're ordering in.
Megan- that cake sounds delicious but my bro n sis don't like pistachio. I, on the other hand, LOVE pistachio. I'm putting that recipe in my recipe box!

I am so glad to bring red velvet cake balls into your lives! I think I'm going to make the football oreo cake balls for the superbowl!
Thanks for all the input, I think I'm going to go with the raspberry mirror though the mirror part frightens me a little. Wish me luck ladies!

Thank you!!! Positive thinking that's what I need! I'll let you know how it goes. I'm also breaking out my KitchenAid stand mixer tonight! WHOO HOO! I'm definitely more excited for it than is warranted!
