I would like to have a DJ at my wedding, but I don't want him to say much. I don't think I even want him to announce when its time for dinner. I want him to be able to feel out the crowd so that people are having fun. I have a very long must play list and want to make sure that he plays it (I am totally a music snob ), but I want to make sure that he can put the songs in order so that the party flows smoothly.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Also, if anyone can FM with DJs that I should stay away from, I would greatly appreciate it!

Re: Easy-going DJ?
I feel the same way & I have the best DJ. Tim Cody from Alternative sounds. I knew him from going to 80's clubs he used to DJ at so when I got engaged I knew I had to use him. He said he would play exactly what I tell him to unlees I want him to feel out the crowd & give him the go ahead to play what he thinks. I've heard good reviews from other brides which made me happy because I was worried he was only good at the clubs or would only play 80's new wave but they assured me he has a huge variety. It sound like he's paying me but he's not, I just know how hard it is to find some one different. Good luck!

Definitely check out FM Entertainment!!! Frank was the DJ for my wedding on Friday and he was awesome. He knew just what to play to get people dancing, and he played EVERY song that I put on my request list at just the right time of the night.

Re: Easy-going DJ?
DEFINITELY the right guy for you is DJ Gaza. He’s a former NYC club DJ (but more like downtown/East Village rock clubs than anything else) and he was just the most laidback, sweet, awesome guy ever. He encourages you to send a list of must plays, as many as you want! I really trust his taste so more than half of the music will be his pick. He is totally the anthiesis of cheesy and just all around awesome. His website is www.djgaza.com

Re: Easy-going DJ?
Your requests are totally NOT snobbish.
My FH is a DJ and he does exactly that. Recently he's had requests for someone to introduce the bridal party, which is where I came in...
But basically he's the type of DJ that can DEFINITELY feel out the crowd and figure out what will make them dance.

Re: Easy-going DJ?
We hired Starlight and I know they give a questionaire asking what you specifically want from them and what your song choices are. Im sure if you clearly tell any DJ what you want and don't want and get it written they will follow it.
