im just thinking of stuff you normaly find in your home....
i found each of these in my lifetime
mouse - never know how they get in, but they do behind raditors, etc..
snakes - i use to live in an apt above a youth project which keeps animals...snake got out and came up plumbing pipes into the bathroom
spiders.. they like to hide in corners
lil wired bugs... i saw this little thing that was long that belong outside under a rock that i killed.

rats/mice, followed by bugs. I am freaked out by the thought that there could be more crawling arond in otehr parts of my apartment.
I'm not afraid of snakes, but I might freak if one mysteriously appeared in my apartment.

part 2 of my snake story was...
Day 1 -we found a snake (baby) at a house we were looking at. it was outside underneath a porch. Later on after coming back...it was gone. We were like, ok, lets go.
Day 2 - we were able to get into the house. not thinking this snake went inside, we looked around. we got to the basement, and we see the snake again just sitting like he was before. thats when we left ... eww

RATS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I could actually handle all the rest much easier - though bugs/spiders freak me out too. Snakes, not too bad
I have gotten used to all of the above with 3 brothers and 2 sons. Not to mention a lot of male cousins, you get used to having these things put in your face or on your shoulder, etc.. I'm not crazy about rats, but they don't scare me.

Re: Easy Poll: Are you afraid more of ....
cockroaches just get me every time. Spiders and mice - whatever, they eat bugs.
Rats? I think i would vomit if I saw one in my house. But cockroaches still scare me more.

Roaches are the only bugs that gross me out. I can handle ants and spiders and beetles (unless they're in my hair, which has happened).
But rats and mice are my biggest household pest fear. Just seeing the droppings freaks me out.
I've been traumatized by rats too, even though i never had them in the house. In grade school in Elmhurst they showed us a movie from dept of sanitation about keeping your neighborhood clean. Then they showed a dirty apartment and rats crawling into a crib and the baby crying. I slept with my covers tucked in so tight after that!!! It really freaked me out.

I once looked at an apt in astoria that had roaches right on the sink. I wonder if the realtor noticed?
