Erica here is the recipe that I have that everyone loves.

4 shallots
4 cloves garlic
Olive Oil
1/2 cup vodka
large can of crushed tomatoes
2 cans of evaported milk (I usually use one can non fat and one can of whole evaporated milk)
1 pound penne

Chop shallots and garlic and saute in olive oil until translucent.

Add Vodka, until the alcohol smell disappates.

Lower the heat and then add the can of tomatoes.

Simmer over medium heat for about 1/2 to 45 minutes, add salt and pepper to taste.

Add evaporated milk until pink, and then bring back up to serving temperature, and serve over penne.

(You might not use all the milk, just pour and stir until a light pink, salmony color.)

Also don't leave on the heat for too long after adding the evaporated milk, becasue it will start to seperate, it will tast the same, but it will not look as nice.

Re: Easy Vodka sauce recipe

It is a cross between an onion and garlic.

It is bigger than garlic, and is shaped like a closve of garlic, but has the layers like an onion, and the brown skin like an onion.

It gives the suase a great flovor, and you can find them where the onions are in the supermarket

Re: Easy Vodka sauce recipe

(never did answer what my recipe was)

I actually cheat---
I use Barilla Tomato and basil sauce

I cook onions and garlic in oil
then i add some vodka
cook awhile
add the tomato sauce
cook awhile (taste it and alter ingredients accordingly, since i don't measure)
add some heavy cream and fat free half and half (less heavy cream) until a nice salmon color
add some parm or romano cheese too!
let it cook a little cuz when you first pour the milk its very separated
Usually i make it with chicken and cook the chicken in garlic and vodka... gives it a good flavor!!!

I'm going to try it the from scratch way with crushed tomatoes. And i'm trying the shallots and evaporated milk too!
