Re: EBAY???
I saw a special about this on Dateline and Oprah. People would watch the auctions and respond to the losers and try to sell them the item. They then would then steal their money. Try to contact the seller on ebay first to see if they are really offering a second chance. Be careful, it may be a scam!

Re: EBAY???
I would say that it could be a scam. If you want to verify, you could try to contact the seller through ebay.

Re: EBAY???
That is definitely a scam. I don't buy anything from ebay without using paypal.

Re: EBAY???
I sell on ebay all the time and it's actually not a scam, it's called a second chance offer. However, to be sure, the seller should send you an official 'second chance offer' e-mail through e-bay. It will be official, just like the rest of the confirmations you get when you bid or get outbid on something on ebay. I have done this to people when the winning bidder stiffed me, and I have had it done to me when I've purchased something. HTH.
ETA: Another sign of it being legit is that the price they offer it to you for will be your highest bid. So, if you bid $100 but the item sold for $150, the second chance offer should be for $100 since that was your max bid.

Re: EBAY???
Second chance offer I always watch out for this. Is this the price that you really want to pay or were you caught up in a bidding scam!!!!!!!!A bidding scam is when the 'seller' bids there stuff up. Watch out for this. I love eBay but some people are not honest people.

Re: EBAY???
you should not buy this or respond to the email. Ebay does not offer western union as a form of payment. Only paypal & money orders.
If you did respond to the email change your ebay & paypal passwords immediately. These type of emails are usually an attempt to gain your personal information.
If you log into your ebay account & the same email is not in your 'my messages' then u need to report the email to ebay & change passwords immediately.

Oooo, I definitely didn't see this follow up post - that DEFINITELY doesn't sound right. There are 2nd chance offers that are legit, but that doesn't sound like one of them! If you click the link I posted above, it tells you how to tell if the offer is real, for future reference!

Re: EBAY???
Woobie, The second chance offer should show up in 'My Ebay' under you messages if is legit, not just in an email sent to you. Still doesn't sound right though. If you want, send me the link in am FM

Re: EBAY???
Its a scam. Anyone that only accepts Western Union or any wire money transfers is full of crap. Dont do it and threaten to report them to Ebay. You should report them anyway.

email the seller to verify, then pay only through paypal...and DO NOT give any personal information to the seller.

Re: EBAY???
yes, that sounds like a scam. Last time I logged on to my ebay account there was a message in my inbox about 2nd chance offers such as this.
I would try and contact the seller directly and also notify ebay.
