Ebay
Last night I got a VERY suspescious email from Ebay (or so I thought). It started out by saying that someone has been using my Ebay acct and that I would be liable for any bids that they placed. So I quickly checked my listings as saw that it was only my auctions that was listed. At the end of the email there was a link to Ebay...supposedly...where I was to confirm some information. I read through what info they wanted and I could not beleive that this was true. Not only did they was my credit card info, but the credit limit, security code on the card, my licence #, Ebay password, PayPal acct and password!!! I knew right then and there it was a scam!! I showed my husband and he said that Ebay knows about it and that tons of people have been scammed out of $$$$.
It kind of scared me. I am pretty computer savey but I almost was roped in. I can just imagine about people that are new to online scams!! No wonder people lose everything!!
I just read the email again and tried to click on the link to show you but its been taken down.
I would love to find out who is behind this. It really upsets me that people are so dishonest!! When I clicked on the link and the page came up, it really did look like and Ebay page!! Very scary!
Just a warning for anyone out there buying or selling on Ebay, they will NEVER ask you for your password or your PayPal info.
