I was just wondering if anyone has purchased their veil from ebay and what you think about doing this.

Re: Ebay shoppers
I bought 2! Jim's grandmother accident threw out my veil because it was in the opened Postal box. She thought it was just stuffing.
Good thing it only cost $24
I love my veil. I bought another at Tri-country (I had to, the day we found out the grandmother tossed my veil was the day of my hair trial)

I bought both my beil and tiara from ebay and each of them cost $25. I love them. My veil is 3-tier, ivory with a satin trim.

Re: Ebay shoppers
Honestly - it's a horrible idea.
I bought a fabulous veil that matched my dress and I loved it. (from a bridal shop - not ebay)
Then my dress came in wrong and I had to get another dress 3 weeks before the wedding. I found one I loved and it was fine but I needed a new veil in a hurry. I ordered one and tried it on for the first time the day of the wedding. It was awful. It was puffy and not at all what I wanted. It seemed so simple but it just wasn't. It was a pretty veil but just not right for me and I had no choice at that point.
You HAVE to try it on.
Go to the Bridal Shoe Boutique in Carle Place. They have a veil guy who comes in often and shows all of his veils. If you call - they can tell you when he comes in. His prices are very good too. (They also havegood shoes for you or the BM too)
I buy on ebay once in a while but try to keep in mind what my husband says to me all the time. 'Congratulations - you've now paid more for that thing than anyone else on ebay thought it was worth!'

Thats so not true...you can get very similair things on e-bay for a LOT less then in the stores. Not just veils..I have purchased name brand things for $10-$20 off the store price, sealed and in the box... I have seen veils that I saw in the store for almost $50 less on e-bay ...YEs you cannot try it on, but thats the risk you take...Most people will allow satisfaction guarenteed, you just have to look for those types of people. You cant expect a miracle but you can find wonderful veils...

That is too funny!!
I bought a veil off ebay.... I just wanted a 'tester' veil though for trying out hairstyles and where to position the thing on my head. I ended up ordering my actual veil from Barron's. But the veil I got from ebay was everything they said it would be. Unless you buy your veil in the shop where you bought your dress, with you gown on -- you will be taking the chance that it doesn't go PERFECTLY. For me it worked out perfectly.

I agree. My veil and Tiara at RK bridal would have been $350. I paid $50. I have been on eBay for over 4 years and I think that if you are a smart shopper, you can get a deal on anything. I don't know a single person who has been ripped off by ebay.
