its funny coz when I went to Sherwood Triart I'm pretty sure this is the exact dress the girl was wearing in the album we looked at and we were talking about how gorgeous it was...but for $500?? can it really be?

I'd go for it! You can return it if you're not happy, so if you don't like it, you get your money back and if you love it, then you got a dress for an awesome price!

Re: ebay - wannabe kenneth pool
i am confused bc if you look at the main pic they have of the dress from a kenneth pool advertisement but then scroll down you'll notice its not the same dress...infact the dress they posted lower, the real pics theytook, are actually pics of the dress MPAS has, its completely different. I actually like the dress they have when you scroll down better than the main pic they used from the ads

Re: ebay - wannabe kenneth pool
yeah this is the one they have the real pics of, and if you notice its the one MPAS has but its in ivory instead of lilac from the ads everyone sees on here(mpas got it in ivory too, not the lilac) I tried that dress on and infact it came down to the one i ended up buying and this one, im examining it to see if i see any differences...i would ask why they're selling it for so much less, that dress is $10,000, actually its a little over $9600 but with taxes and alterations it would come out to $10,000 even a little more. See what they say so this way it can ease your mind
also the bottom design is a little different...and i could've sworn there was more beading in the back, for this dress they're selling its only on the bottom...i tried it on back in march so i cant remember that clearly but ask MPAS she bought her dress recently so she would know better.
They might've just made a copy of it, had their own dress maker do it...nonetheless a beautifull dress

Re: ebay - wannabe kenneth pool
sorry but another thing i noticed is the bodice right underneath the breast is a little different than it looks in person and you see the beading part by the hips that goes down, its also a little different, the real dress its thicker and its a little bit further back.

I would be skeptical, I've heard horror stories from girls who buy dresses on ebay and they end up receiving a horrible replica of the dress, be careful!
ETA: I just read on the ad that they have a showroom in elmhurst, I would definitely check that out before purchasing the dress

I am almost positive it is a replica...the bottom part is different...even if you look closely at the two pics i posted of the dress on ebay and from the KP runway show you can see the difference, i see other differences too...and am i crazy or does dutchess satin not get that wrinkled The dresses i tried on, none of them were wrinkled and those get beat up from everyone trying them on.
And yeah JUST for the fact that its in elmhurst like you said Jess(i saw your ETA after i posted) would make me skeptical...once i saw that i was like ELMHURST

Re: ebay - wannabe kenneth pool
I was just examining it and its really diff from my dress. Mine has all buttons going down the back and its mostly crystals and this one look like a synthetic beading is all over it. Very similar but not quite. Sorry to say but the ebay one looks like a knockoff unless its another styles KP dress. I cant trust any designer brand on ebay. But if you want to order it, 500 is an awesome price, no on will know the difference, its still beautiful

I looked at it again on ebay and JUST noticed there were no buttons...ALSO yes it is a replica, look at the wording of the listing, it says satin kenneth embroid, not that its a kenneth pool dress, what they're saying is that its kenneth pools embroidery, so they copied the embroidery....there was no 100% authenticity guaranteed which there would've been on it if it was...so theyre not even saying its a KP dress...but i agree its still a gorgeous dress and if you like it go for it. Just keep in mind that the one they have is just silk so it will get a little wrinkled.

Yeah these companies on ebay can play with your head on descriptions, I learned my lesson with brands on ebay. It does say KP embrod and not that its a 100% KP dress. It looks generic in the pics, I dont know how nice it would look in person. I learned never to purchase brands from these ebay stores, if you really want a KP dress try to buy it from an individual selling it not from a store, they can screw you over and its not a pair of jeans or bag but its a wedding dress

yeah i never buy brands on ebay, i just hate the whole skeptical issue and wondering...About 5 years ago or longer maybe, i bought a gucci hat from ebay and i dont think its real, i never even wore it bc it fit weird...since then i never buy anything. And recently FH bought some things on ebay,i dont know what got into him and ebay and then after he read that alot of the billionaire boys clubs(pharrell's clothing line) shirts are fake so he stopped.

Re: ebay - wannabe kenneth pool
When 7 jeans were popular back a couple of years, I won a pair of the Swarovski cystal 7's, I wanted them for soo long, I was soooo happy but when I got them I knew right away they were fake, sooooo damn fake I was pissed. So I returned them and the store that sold them to me told me that they were going to refund my money, NOPE they didnt, they cancelled their ebay acc a couple of weeks later, no wonder they had 80% negative feedback. So no refund and no jeans, anyways thats my ebay experience, if you want to buy a gown on ebay or anything dsigner just do extensive research first

It's definitley a knock-off..but hey, if you are OK with it, investigate the seller and go for it! Do what you gotta do to wear a dress you love!

Re: ebay - wannabe kenneth pool
yea its definitly a knockoff but if its a good replica who cares right. Only you will know.
However, that being said im sorry to say this but, just by looking at the pictures i can tell you the sequence will fall off, the beading work looks cheap, and poorly done. I would definitly go to the store first, i have seen better knockoffs!
Have you considered going to a dress maker or having it cumstom made? They would do a better job and it would look almost identical to the dress you want. It would cost more than $500 but it also wouldnt cost $10,000. I know a really good dress maker in brooklyn, her name is Marie Shall and she has done dresses for a few people i know and she can replicate anything...shes that good. Let me know if youd like her contact info.

Re: ebay - wannabe kenneth pool
i agree with the above. try it and return it if you dont like it. even if it's not real, what the big deal? nobody has to know. and if you like it then so what?
