I think the cake knife. Your older guests may not like the shot glass. But it is a good idea for Groomsmen gifts.

Cake knife...I personally think a shot glass is tacky. Lots might love it but I would probably think- what?!

I say the cake knife. A lot of people don't use things that are personalized. A cake knife will always come in handy.

I have two cake knives at home in boxes never used from weddings. I actually hate getting cake knives, so I would vote for the shot glass. Or keep looking.

Although I am young and my friends use shot glasses.. I think overall the general population of the guests would appreciate and get much more use out of the cake cutter!
Cake CUtter all the way!

Not many people do shots and of those that do they are usually doing them when out. IMO those glasses get shoved in the back of the cabinet. Also my 83 yr old grandmother would have no clue what to do with a shot glass! Hahaha!

We used to get shotglasses as favors for sorority and frat events. I collected them for a few years, and when I moved in with DH a while ago I ditched them all... because I never once used them!
