HAIR! I just got back from my hair trial. And to give it a little more volume they added a 'rat'. It made such a difference. It held much better and the hair pins were sticking in the rat , not in my scalp. And I totally changed my mind about a head piece, I'm going with sparkly clips which look much better with the do than a tiara would and they'll stay in better too.

It's down on Merrick Road, across from Mill Pond. They just opened a few months ago.
Ok, I confess I'm a little prejudice b/c one of the owners is my MOH sister. Jaqueline really does an amazing job. She' been doing my up-dos for years, but this one really topped them all!

Now the pics are up (sorry they are sideways).
And the 'rat' really is a little scary, it looks like a giant hair ball! and alll my real hair was put over it and textured. and layered.

Thanks! That's what my mom and I liked about it too. At first we tried putting it up higher, but it looked very 'runway' and that's toatlly not me. And I love that it was definitely holding without my head feeling like plastic from too much hairspary.

pretty . So that is what a rat is. Its just a filler. My grandmas' friend used to roll up a nylon and do the same thing. Glad to hear that times have changed. LOL
