EFFING DOCTOR'S OFFICE AND INSURANCE COMPANIES--small update, page 2
I have totally had it. I'm so POed that there is no way I can adequately explain what is going on. I can only try. I'm supposed to go see a heart rhythm specialist. It sure seems to me that these guys just don't want to see patients!!!! My doctor informed me 10 days ago that he wants me to see someone RIGHT AWAY and, not for lack of effort on my part, I still have not seen someone. I have an appointment with someone tomorrow--an appointment I had to BEG FOR and it is over an hour from my house and I have not been driving those distances since these symptoms started. So I just got a call saying they are not sure if the doctor takes my insurance and they can let me know in the morning. I'm already shelling out all kinds of $$ for things that are not covered and I am so tired of it. So, I guess I can go out of network, but to go out of network to see a doctor whose office is so far away seems stupid. I told the woman who called me that my DH is taking off work to bring me to the appointment and I need to know today if they take my insurance. I HAVE FRIKKIN BLUE CROSS-- HOW DIFFICULT IS THAT????? The woman tells me that I'm making a big deal for nothing. I told her to try being pregnant and unable to breathe and then call me back and let me know if she thinks it's a big deal. I do not even know if my original doctor sent over the records that will be needed for this. So, I called my doctor to discuss all of the concerns about this. He is usually very helpful but he has never spoken to me when I was pissed off!!!! I am waiting for his call but in the meantime, I have about 10 hours work that has to get done before tomorrow and I was up until 3am with trouble breathing. Thanks for letting me vent. (ETA: Darlene's post has me asking whether I can actually VENT if I cannot breathe ).

So sorry Kerie!!!!
Put the work aside, your health (and the baby's) is so much more important.
Call Blue Cross and see if they cover that doctor, they might be more helpful.

DH is going to call but the doctor is in the process of changing hospitals, which is a huge part of the problem. I called his original hospital and was told that he can't see me because he is moving out of state. Then my doctor confirmed that was FALSE. Then his new practice tried to tell me to just go see him at the old practice b/c according to them, he is continuing part time there. Why no one wanted to schedule me is beyond me.
Ordinarily I would apologize for speaking to someone the way I spoke to the lady today. Right now, I couldn't be bothered to take the time to care.
So I will try to look on the bright side: I am sure that this situation raised my blood pressure, and that is one of the things I need to do, b/c of my BP being too low.

Re: EFFING DOCTOR'S OFFICE AND INSURANCE COMPANIES
So now they take my insurance, but they don't have my records from my cardiologist even thought they swore they were taking care of gettin them and that I did not have to coordinate that. So, here I am at the last minute making phone calls to make sure that gets done. DH says I should check back again in the AM to make sure that my records are there. I say that I have called their asses enough and that if we show up and there are no records, I'll insist that they get them faxed over on the spot b/c I am not leaving without having the specialist look at the results of all of the tests I have had in the past 3 weeks. I just want to have a peaceful morning before my appointment and I do not want tomorrow to be more of the same BS that today was. To top it all off, my skin is still reacting to all of the probes I have had stuck to me. I have an allergy to adhesives and I supposeldy got the 'sensitive skin' adhesive.
ETA: And go ahead, make fun of my typos/ spelling mistakes. I am living on the edge today and refusing to correct them.

Re: EFFING DOCTOR'S OFFICE AND INSURANCE COMPANIES
UPDATE: I went to the specialist and he reviewed my results with me. They are going to try me on a low dose of medication that is Pregnancy category B (really that is as safe as it gets in pregnancy). My blood pressure may drop some more so I have to keep up on the salty foods. We aren't sure the medication will work at all. We won't know until after the pregnancy whether this is a condition that will stay with me. If so, I may need a procedure that they cannot do now. There should not be any complications for the baby or for delivery.

My DH will tell you that potato chips are the best source of salty foods!!!
Seriously though, I'll keep my fingers crossed that the mediation works and that the issue truly is only pregnancy related and will go away.

As for salty food - eat chinese, potato chips as Darlene advised, and lots of cheese!

I'll keep you all posted---now I learned that the drug may have risks and they may decide on something else.
