El Dorado post Hurricane Emily

My wedding is in five weeks and we have no honeymoon booked! We loved Aventura in Rivera Maya, Mexico, but it's closed now. El Dorado looks even better, but we don't want to get our hopes up. Any updates from people who've been there post-Emily?

Read BriBri's review on The Bride's Review board...I don't think it's up and running.

You should consider some where that is not in the middle of hurricane season. What about Hawaii, Aruba.

I will be going to El Dorado.......and have heard nothin but great things, including some reviews on here from girls who have went.

Its all a chance to take. I know post Hurricane Emily, this place was absolutely beautiful.......

Good luck in your decision. Although just a quick question, how come you waited so long to book your HM if your wedding is in 3 weeks...?

El Dorado is open because mrswask went there a few days ago on her anniversary trip. So I hope she will have an awesome time and there will be no problems. I was thinking about Brian and Brianne while they were there during the hurricane. I feel so horribly for them that they had to go through that. It just stinks.

Wedding is in five weeks, not three, and I just got engaged at the end of April. Too much going on at once!
This gives me hope about El Dorado. Now we're also looking at Riu Palace in Cabo San Lucas. FH is too nervous about El D. I think, but we have to book THIS WEEK!

Kimberlybride- just saw on El Dorado's website that the casitas are closed. That's what we wanted! Were you planning on staying in one?

Seriously consider avoiding the hurricane zone--I can't recommend it enough. We had planned to go to Secrets Capri at the Mayan Riviera for our honeymoon, but had to change our plans. We were fortunate to be able to book another trip and not lose much money.

Seriously, you don't want to worry about this right before your wedding. The day before we got married we were both stressed out and scrambling around rebooking.

We wound up going to Quebec City--stayed at the Chateau Frontenac. We both loved it!
