electrolysis

Hi Ladies,

I recently was posting about laser hair removal and after going for some consultations I have decided that electrolysis is the better option for my needs. Have any of you ever gone for this? Can you share any information about it? Thanks!

Re: electrolysis

Ive gone for electrolysis and I swear by it. yes, it is painful, but if you ask your MD for a prescription for Emla (topical numbing agent) and take a Tylenol before it will be fine.

It does take more than one time for most people. It's better than laser, in the sense that it has the same effect regardless of skin tone or hair thickness. The hardest thing to find someone who does it well and actually gets the root of the hair, not just zapping and breaking off the hair.

Let me know if you need more info.

Re: electrolysis

My mom and I have both had it done. Actually, I was in high school when I did it, and I didn't need anything for the pain - it just feels like quick pinches. I agree that you should find someone quite experienced, who will get the root of the hair and not just break it off. It will take a few sessions. My person moved unfortunately, I resorted to waxing
