Elsa?

Elsa?

Has anyone used them for their wedding bands?

Let me explain . . . a while back FH and I met Elsa at a showcase at the Inn and since then they've called us every week like clockwork to set up an appointment. This has gone on for like 6 months. I keep telling them we aren't ready - also because I am bad at saying we just aren't interested. Anyway, they broke me down. FH and I drove out to Farmingdale to meet them this past Saturday afternoon - because I do want to keep an open mind and we don't have a jeweler in mind yet for our bands. When we got there we waited 30 minutes and when we finally sat with Stefan, he went into a 15 minute long rant about how he wants a 'yes' or 'no' from us by the end of our appointment because he doesn't want to waste his time (meanwhile, they wasted 30 mins of ours) and they dont have time for repeat appts since they are all 1 hr long. Our appt was about 20 mins long because we both know exactly what we want, he rushed through it, and then made a repeat appointment for us to go back because, as I said from the beginning, we don't make decisions on the spot.

After this rant, I'm sure they would do a fine job making a custom ring to match up with my ering, which is antique-y, but I'm not sure how I felt about their whole approach. Thoughts? Anyone have experience - good or bad - with this vendor? TIA!!

ive never heard of them, but they sound like they dont know how to run a business. imagine if they make a mistake and you have to work with them to fix it? why do you say they will do a good job on your rings? i say go with your gut.

Hmmm well thank you for making my decision for me I met them at the LIW extravaganza and mistakingly put in my information. They have since been contacting me about once a month, and I don't have the heart to tell them that I'm going to the jeweler where FH bought my e-ring.

I've heard they do wonderful work, and I was seriously considering it, since I do need to get my wedding band custom made to match my e-ring. But if that's what their customer service is like, they can go f-off. I'd prefer to pay a little more for outstanding customer service, which I know I get at the jeweler where FH bought my e-ring.

we had a verrrrry similar experienceee

they said they needed a yes/no and told us that if we dont say yes we will probably never come back

our answer was 'not sure' ya know?

anyway, i am kind of scared to go back just because i dont want to deal with that type of sales approach....although i do like what i heard

the other issue i had/have, is that they cant give you a price estimate upfront. did you get a price?

when i first went there i had no idea what style i wanted....but now i do know what i want. and honestly, i wouldnt mind going (especially since they dont need to keep the e-ring!!!!!), but i want a price estimate...and im afriad of the sales pressure

idk what to do

we can always go to the place that made the e-ring, which FH likes....but they will take my ring for like 2 weeks!!!!!! ughhhh

My Mom is my jeweler. I don't have to go far. Just down a flight of stairs. LOL

I actually had a very similar experience with them. FH and I never book someone until we return home, discuss the finances and the pros and cons of the vendor. The ring I was interested in they already had a mold for so another one didn't have to be made. I left there thinking the price was really good.

Let me back up a bit...the ring I wanted was actually two seperate bands with a slight curve in them so that it would fit up against my e-ring. He quoted us a price for the two and thought it was a good price. I had originally looked at Jareds and liked an insert but changed my mind to the seperate bands. After this appointment with Stefen, I went back to Jareds and actually found the seperate bands that I wanted and it was cheaper. IMO I went with Jared because of the price and also because I was a little worried about warranty and things like that. I was more comfortable with getting a warranty and adjustments through Jareds then with Elsa. I ended cancelling our following appointment with Elsa.

I hope this helps!

I agree. If they are that pushy and kinda rude when they are trying to make a sale, how will they be once they have you signed to a contract? Your e-ring is beautiful, I say you should go to the guy who made that, and I'm sure he could make beautiful bands.

Well, they are definitely persistent. The way they presented their service was as if they don't really have a lot of time to spend with 'potential' clients because they are dedicated to their existing clients . . . so I guess that is good??

We were considering them because I need a custom band to accommodate my e-ring, but I know the jeweler we got the ering from could easily handle this task - I just wanted to shop around a little. He didn't give us a price up front, but an idea. I told him I want an eternity band to match the pave style of my ering and at first he quoted me around 1K, which is what I've seen shopping around, but at the end of the appointment when I was clarifying the details and I said 'eternity band' he said, oh, no, I was just quoting you for the diamonds going half way around, so it would be that much more.

This has been cathartic, the more I am writing the more my decision has been made.

I just wanted to see if anyone had anything OUTSTANDING to say about them and their product. Also, while I was there, a client of there's was having her entire e-ring setting re-done and did NOT seemed pleased.

I think our first stop is the place he got my e-ring from. I'm happy with it, so I figure they deserve our business again.

Re: Elsa?

we're having our rings made by them.

we met with them at the liweddings showcase a few months ago. I HAD to have my wedding band custom made, so we figured we might as well meet with them.
Stefen did tell us that he wanted an answer that night and they did call a bit.. but I don't remember it being that much.
we ended up putting a deposit down.. and as we were walking out FH said he didn't feel 100% with them.. so WHY did he encourage me to write a check??
anyway, we discussed it and its not a big deal.
so now we have to make an appt for the wax molds.. we make it for a saturday, its the only day we are both available. well they call me telling me that they have to change the date because the woman who does the molds will be out for a few weeks... w/e we change the appt. ends up FH didn't have to be there, they brought me to the back to watch the 'mold' but he had to sit up front. he wasn't too happy about that. but w/e.
so now i have to write a POST DATED check... do we all remember this story?
well it was a wednesday, I put the date for saturday to give enough time to transfer funds and whatnot... well thursday morning the check was deposited and by friday morning I was hit with $105 worth of fees on the checking account.
I had to fight with Elsa (the wife)... Stefen was easy to work with.. but Elsa... she's something else. FH wanted to punch her one day when he went up there.
Well after arguing with her and listening to him apologize.. I got a check in the mail on saturday for the $105... it took a month to get.

so this does leave a really sour taste in my mouth, but we've already invested a few hundred dollars into them and the contract says we wont get our $ back if we cancel. so we're stuck... at least I am stuck, as long as they haven't started FH's band he can cancel his and we can apply the money towards mine... which I think we might do.

But yea, Stefen isn't that bad, he's actually kinda nice.. a little pushy, but its just his character. If there wasn't the incident with the check I'd be 100% happy with them.

Wow, crazy story!! Why wouldn't they let FH go in back with you?

They told us we should leave a deposit, 'think about it' and then call them if we change our mind and they'd refund the deposit. ummmm, how about no?

cause there wasn't enough room... which is true, there's really not enough room.. but I don't understand why they needed both of us for the appt.

I set up an appointment with them because I liked the guy when I met him at the showcase and thought they would do a really nice job. When I called to make the appointment the woman on the phone gave me that speech where we have to make an answer by the end of the hour long appointment. well I didnt like that and didnt go. I got my ring Saturday from somewhere else

i met them at a showcase and i chose to call them to set up an appointment.
they took me right away and he explained his process. i didnt find him pushy at all.

i ended up having my band made there and i love it. he stayed within my budget and had some great ideas to help match my ring.

i'm sorry some of you girls had a bad experience. mine was great and i would recommend them to anyone

That's reassuring, Jackie. How long was the process?

Re: Elsa?

well i started rather early so they took their time. but overall i think it was 4 months. i got it last january. but they can do it in much shorter time if you need it.
