'dont worry - we cut down our list to 141 invites plus the 20 people we are inviting from Italy, so that's 161'

followed by 'that means the list is at 280 right now, so can you cut yours down. do you need to invite ALL of your friends?'

WHAT?? My list is 50 people ... and they are all out of town -- my mother is sick in the head. I told her 100 and she has 161!!!

GIRLS -- I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!

I completely understand! We started with 320 and we made everyone cut. We are at 275 right now and instead of going down it keeps goin up! I hate doing the list!

I feel your pain. My mom is lucky we don't live in the same state because we would really have it out. We are still haveing debates on the guest list. Thank God this is almost over!

Bridget, the only problem with the NRC is that it fits too many people!!!

I feel your pain. FH and I's list is about 50 people... and FMIL's is about 250... it's crazy... but she's paying for it, so it's hard to say no...

Stand your ground. Afterall it is your wedding
and you should have your guests. It is only 50 people anyway. I think 161 is a ton!!!!

I would just tell her that you want your 50 people there and while you are grateful for her payign for the wedding, could she possible cut some people down. If she gets angry or what not, then she is losing her mind.....thats not fair to you or your FH

Either way, though, that's a little ridiculous. Does the 161 include a lot of their friends? If so, pose the question of how should could think that some of her friends should celebrate with you but your own won't? That makes no sense!

I can totally symphathize with you. This is my second wedding...when I told my mom that I got engaged the first thing she said was 'congratulations'...the second thing she said was 'you're not going to have another big wedding, right?'.

Well...every other day she would call me with more people to add to the guest list. People I've never even met!!!! So, I reminded her that if this wedding becomes 'too big' it's because SHE keeps inviting everyone she shakes hands with!

Remember...it's your wedding. Make sure you invite everyone YOU want...then worry about the rest. NO WAY should you have to cut down your list.

join the club, mine was supposed to be only 100 but my mom keeps giving out invitations. now its almost 170. get this she wants to uninvite people....TOO LATE!!
