Embellishing flat invitations

I like the idea of unique invitations, but the ones I have seen that open up really pretty or have nice ribbons are either really expensive or the design is a bit old fashioned. I found a place that does flat cards with really pretty modern designs that are good for my budget. Is there a way to add embellishments or ribbons etc to somehow dress up an invitation?

Thanks!

I have been working on designs for invitations possibly for my cousins wedding. Take a look at my blog maybe this can help you out...
