Emergency dispatcher.....my new calling????

Ok so recentely I heard about someone that became an emergency dispatcher and for some reason that really sounded interesting to me. I know it's nothing that anyone hasn't heard of but for some reason that profession never occurred to me. Right now I work in retail as a manager but if the opputunity arose for me to leave it would DEFINITLY not be the end of the world.

So my question is.....how do I find out more information about this? How much training and schooling is involved? How much is a typical salary? I dont know where to look!!

thats a good idea - iom googling around about it...

im intrigued!

I use to work as a paramedic. I know that an emergency dispatcher for EMS and 911 in suffolk country requires that you be at least an EMT-B and then you have to take another course to be an EMT-D.

Pay is usually around $30,000-$40,000

FM me if you have any questions!
