So FSIL picks up her dress from her seamstress TODAY at 3 p.m.. She doesn't try it on there because the seamstress has an urgent appointment to go to an will be unavailable the rest of the evening.
FSIL gets the dress home AND IT DOESN'T FIT! She cut too much off the top, it's WAY to tight. And she cut too much off the length. Dress is supposed to sit on floor however now you can totally see her feet. And she can't get in touch with the seamstress, of course!
HELP!!!! WEDDING IS ON FRIDAY!
The seamstress gave her all the material that was cut. I have two plans as of now. Take it to another seamstress tomorrow, see if the can let the top out and make a false side if need to be.
Or, see if David's Bridal (where we got the dress) has one she can buy off the rack. But she will still need a seamstress to fit it to her.
So....anyone have a RELIABLE seamstress recommendation in Queens that may be able to make emergency repairs? Or can you can up with an alternative plan?????
Don't EVEN get me started on how this freakin happened!!!!!!!!!

No can do. From what I was told, she was supposed to pick up the dress yesterday. FSIL called and called (so she said) and girl never answered or returned her call. This women works out of her house, and does a lot of sewing for FSIL's friend. So I am told that today the seamstress calls FSIL's friend to tell her to call FSIL and have her pick up the dress at 3:30 today & not to be late because she has somewhere to go and won't be available the remainder of the night. I don't know what the truth of the situation is, but right now i don't care. I'll give hell to whoever deserves it after the wedding.
I just need another seamstress.

I would suggest you go to david's bridal and check something out. If not go to the nearest seamstress and tell them about the emergency and if anything can be done.

Try Manny's or Sarina in FH. I got to Manny and he's reasonable and can do it fast if you ask (maybe).

I am told that Angels Bridal in East Islip is really good at fixing problems from other dress stores. You might want to try them.

GO to Davids and buy anything similar to the style in the color you need.
I bought an off the rack dress at David's and only a store in Kansas had the size and color I needed. Go with whatever they have. So sorry this is happening but try to remember, YOU are the star of the show and all eyes will be on YOU and DH!
I loveeee the Italian Lady in Whitepoint Shopping Center the address is 132-07 14th Avenue they are opened from 6:30am - 6:30 pm I am sure she can do emergency work for you just tell her that you know me but she knows me under my married name Begonja (pronounced like the flower begonia) let me know if you need her #
Is this Lady from whitestone by any chance because I heard of problems like this form someone that does work out of her house in whitestone??

Thanks, everyone!!!! I'm making a list and as soon as David's Bridal opens I'm going to see if I can get the dress of the rack and then start calling these places.

Well I know that DB will be able to fit the dress for tomorrow but it will be an extra rush and she will pay alot for it... did she personally go back to the seamstress and see if she was there? there is this one woman in Astoria, Queens called Ligia and she is wonderful ....

Update.....
BM (FSIL) is ***, can't find her. She won't pick up her phone. She has NO JOB, fyi.....
I hope she is out getting her dressed fixed!!!!!!!!!!! She should be stressing this not you the day before your wedding.. dont worry ... it will work out. Try that lady I recommended, if not I would seriously camp outside the other seamstresses door until she fixed the dress
