Do any of you Mommies have endimitriosis? How long did it take you to get pregnant? I have it and my doctor wants me to start trying. My husband and I want to wait a year or so, but not if it will put our chances to conceive at risk. Thanks!

Re: Endimitriosis
It took my sister four years of trying to get pregnant. She finally had to have the scar tissue removed in order to have any chance of getting pregnant. Her son is now 4 and they had a baby less than two years after that. I heard if you have endometreosis, it's VERY easy to get pregnant after you have a baby. If you wait for several years, the tissue builds up again (Sorry if TMI).

Not a mommy yet, but I was told by my doctor that I have 'slight' endometriosis... He said it could lead to compications, but from what I understand it depends on how much scaring has already occured.

I don't know how much scarring I have, but I have had surgery in the past. I know I don't have a severe case, but its enough to cause some alarm. I don't know what to do. My husband is in grad school full time getting his MBA, so my income is our ONLY source of income right now! Then we'll need both of our incomes to pay off the school debt and buy a house, so I can't afford to be pregnant with any complications where I couldn't work. Its great to hear that all of the women you all mentioned did get pregnant, even if it took a long time! Thanks for sharing with me!

My sister has a severe case but she is not TTC, or even married for that matter yet. I do fear that she will have trouble TTC because of all of her GYN issues. SHe has had surgeries, lupron shots and bleeding problems for the past 2 years

My best friend had it...young too...they had been trying for 5 years till she had her surgeries. She used to be in excrutiating pain. She got PG a few months after the surgeries and then the endo started to grow again, so her Dr told her sooner than later would be better for baby #2. She got PG with #2 when #1 was just 10 months old.
It was a long ,hard, frustrating process. Good luck to you!

I think maybe you should go back to the doctor and ask him to clarify a little bit. Just to see what his opinion is on the severity of it and to ask him how long you have. If the time is not right for you to have a baby, because of work, then you should probably wait until your husband if finshed with his MBA. As for having to buy a house, I know tons of people who lived in a one bedroom apartments with a child before they owned a home. So you dont HAVE to own a house before you have children. I think this is more a personal decision. For us, we figured it would be 5 years before we can save up to own a home, and I didnt want to wait that long to TTC. There seems to be plenty of hope when you hear about all these girls who have gotten pregnant with this condition. good luck to you!!!!

Re: Endimitriosis
Thanks for all of the advice. I talked to my Mom today and she said my gyno told her when I was 17 (I'm 26 now) that I should get pregnant as soon as I get married. My doctor is in NY (I live in Chicago), so my next visit home and I should go and bring my hubbie. Maybe that will help. And I know we don't have a house, but my husband is a planner to the extreme and has certain things he feels are a must and thats one. But, it doesn't have to be a house - I just meant own and not rent - our first purchase will probably be a condo since we live in the city. And he is okay with that - he just wants to be in a certain financial position before we have a baby. So many decisions....
