Re: Enfamil Nutramigen
If your Dr writes a script for it the pharmacy will hold it behind the counter fo you and it is applied as if it was a RX. A few friends of mine did this, it cost them ONLY $50 per month.

We used it for 6 months. We tried regular formula then and she was fine with it.
I have heard that about a prescription for the Nutramigen but it really depends on your insurance. I know ours didnt cover it.

Our ins. didn't cover it either. Rebecca just had her 6 month appt. and we discussed trying regular formula again. I'll let you know how that goes. I am so nervous with all the pain she had before! We are starting tommorow.

Re: Enfamil Nutramigen
If your doctor writes a detailed script with procedure (CPT codes) and diagnosis codes for the baby, your insurance plan almost 99.9% will cover it (unless deductibles are not met) , it is just a matter of knowing how to get around the system. The insurance companies don't advertise or advocate for these detailed meaures since they lose money. The insurance companies are intimidating so once they say they won't cover something most people just put it rest, most insurance companies have ways of getting around guidelines to cover medical needs and specialty follow up (especially specialized baby formula). It's quality of life issue, if they refuse then there would be plenty of lawsuits due to babies with FTT (failure to thrive). Just imagine if the didn't cover insulin injections for kids, it is similar, of you need more help with htis FM me and I can help, I have a helped a community doctor many times get coverage for her patient's babies who need specialized formula.

Re: Enfamil Nutramigen
Once my daughter's reflux got better, the dr said we could try a different formula again and see how she does. She had problems with it again so we HAVE to use the Nutramigen. She just couldn't take anything else.
