Hi everyone! I've been engaged for a little over a month and heard about how great this site is! We are looking to have an outside June 2009 wedding. We checked out Bridgeview Yacht Club, Glen Cove Mansion and the Inn at NHP over the weekend. We fell in love with BYC-- we are big fans of having the reception in the 'tent.' Plus, they are making so many renovations that by 2009, it will be even more spectacular. However, I feel like we owe it to ourselves to see a few more places. Anyone know of venues that do receptions outside? Thanks a lot!

Re: Engaged!
Congratulations and Welcome. There are plenty of places to look at. Here are a few others you may want to look at: Chateau La Mer, Atlantica, Lands End.
Also there are a couple threads today that have similar information about your questions. Happy to help.

Re: Engaged!
I called Lands End and they said they've never done a reception outside and would need a 'back-up' plan in case it rained . The Atlantica looks beautiful though-- I'm going to make an appt. there. Thanks!

Re: Engaged!
Westbury Manor has an amazing outdoor space for both the ceremony and cocktail hour. I'm a little biased though - I love WM!
Congrats and welcome and ask as many questions as you need to!

Re: Engaged!
someone just started a thread on atlantica on brides helping brides board... they said its about 200 a head, but drops down if you have a daytime wedding... i would Fm someone on that thread for more info
and rem the prices do not include tax and service charges (18-20%)

Re: Engaged!
Atlantica would have been around $250 for Friday in May with the package we wanted.

Not at all! It looks beautiful and I've heard nothing but wonderful things. However, it seems they don't do receptions outside as well, only cocktail hour. How big is the patio outside?

i honestly dont know of any places that hold receptions outdoors... technically, BYC is still inside... yes it has a tent but its all enclosed... unless its one of their changes they are doing... i used to 'go clubbin' there so i remem the place from a few years ago...

Re: Engaged!
You're right- it does have 4 walls but with the renovations, they are making one whole side with 3 sets of french doors, one set opening to a garden (where the bar use to be as soon as you walked in to the club) Also, I guess it's just the feeling of a tent (view from outside) and the ceiling that makes it feel like the outdoors. The ceiling to floor windows on the waterside helps as well :)

North Ritz Club has a place for an outdoor ceremony (and also an indoor ceremony room as backup). It's located in Syosset

If youre looking for something real laid back, there is the Pavilion at Sunken Meadow, you have your ceremony on the beach, CH in a tent and then you can go inside for the reception. Its a lessings property so you can check it out on the lessings website. Also, hamptonsbride had her wedding in a tent out east and it looks like it was GORGEOUS! Heres a link to her review....review
