FH and I will be attending the Engaged Encounter Weekend in Huntington Fri July 18- Sun July 20. Just wondering if anyone else from LIW will be attending (there's supposed to be 16 couples). Also, if you have done the encounter weekend before, could you please tell me how your experience was?
PS: We have FOCCUS Weds 7/16 and Weds 7/23 in Uniondale. Anyone going to that?

FH and I did it, but we are in Virginia...
Basically you do three things the entire weekend: 1) Listen to talks from the couples that are hosting it (usually about 20 min each) 2) Answer questions about the talk in the form of a letter to FH (alone time- guys and girls split up to write) 3) Reunite with FH and share what you wrote and talk about it in private (we would talk for a few minutes about it and then just hang out and relax until they rang the bell for us to come back to the meeting room)
It was slightly boring at times but we did get a lot out of it. Good luck!

Ohh, sorry I read your post wrong. I'm sorry if I offended YOU!
But yes, it's in place of the 6 weeks in a row of precana. People have been looking at me like I have 10 heads when I tell them. Not many people have heard of it before and I haven't either until I was talking with the priest about our options since FH is out of state.
