Congratulations! It sounds PERFECT! I didn't want an engagement party becuase I felt like I was throwing money before more money... I WISH I had thought of an engagement dinner!

i did the same thing - we had a really nice dinner - my FMIL surprised us with balloons for decorations and my mom surprised us with little favors!!
we had a nice time and it was not stressful at all! ( ok i am lying it was stressful but only bc it was the weekend of the snowstorm and we had to postpone it! lol)
