Re: Engagement gift help
money might be a good choice, since you don't want to buy off of their registry- or a gift card to where they are registered . . .

Re: Engagement gift help
If your looking to give a gift, maybe give something with their monogram or their last name. Glasses engraved with their last initial, an ice bucket with their initial or last name etc.

What are some gifts you enjoyed getting for your engagement? I know I loved my toasting flutes. And cash is always a great gift!

I loved getting the china I registered for. My fave gift was Lladro bride and groom statue. Although I did get 5 other bride and groom statues.Things I did not like:
stuff I could not use, ie a giant swimming pool size bowl
Still think $$$ is best!

Re: Engagement gift help
the only problem with 'typical' gifts like toasting flutes and vases and frames and statues is that everyone gives them. Then you end up with a dozen frames, statues, flutes that you won't use . . .

THanks for all the suggestions.. FH and I don't want to give money because I think they would wind up spending it on unnecessary things.. I really want something unique... honestly I don't know what.. they don't have a lot of money and she is actually preggo.. but they got engaged prior.. who knows? They are most likely not having a huge wedding, most likely they want to go to an island, so I dont know yet.. thanks for all the suggestions!

Belle-- is the engagement party or the wedding in a few weeks?? If it's the wedding-- that is weird- cause I am going to a wedding of people in a similar sitch.

Re: Engagement gift help
No its just the engagement party.. they aren't getting married until April 2006..they have no money and I feel like they are having this party just to get money.. I know it sounds bitter.. but no one likes the girl and I don't want to give them money so she can still sit home and do nothing while he is working his butt off.. it's a long story!Welcome New Vendors
