Does anyone have any ideas for a unique engagement gift. A good friend of mine has recently gotten engaged, she already received the wedding type gifts, toasting flutes, cake cutter, etc.

my two FAVORITE eng gifts:
a picture frame that said WE'RE ENGAGED! and had a diamond ring on it
a wedding planner from snapfish with our picture on it
*these are more for her than both of them but i loved both these gifts!

I think a wedding planner is a great idea. My fsil bought me one for our engagement and it came in so handy!!

I love the wedding planner I got too. It's the one gift that I have used the most.

Bed Bath and Beyond has a wine cooler that you can plug in and it chills wine in about 30 minutes. Goes nice in a basket with glasses and a bottle of wine.

My fav was Tiffany candle sticks with square bottoms... they were $50 per candle stick, so about $100 for the set. Put those bad boys in that AWESOME blue Tiffany box and bring it in a Tiffany bag and it will be a hit! I will definitely use mine for special occasions for life!

We recieved a very cute E-gift. 2 hand painted glasses with our names on it and a bottle of wine with our names and engagment date in a beautiful basket. The glasses also happen to be our wedding colors!

the best e-gift I got was note cards with our names pre-printed on the outside. They are pretty and elegant and are something we can use for awhile, not just through our engagement.

a 'theme gift' like maragarita night margarita glasses chip and dip tequilla & mixers mexican cookbook
monogram bath towels
a gift certificate for a massage and/or facial -- she will thank you as her wedding nears and she is broke & stressed

I went to a shower once where a friend of the bride-to-be made her a basket full of holiday decorations for her new home... simple ones like wood hearts to hang for V-Day, a snowman for winter, etc. I thought that was really cute and unique especially if you know your friend's taste... Good Luck!

I love the throw blanket I got...from things remembered... it had our names on it, a saying and the date we got engaged...although if they know their wedding date you could prob do that too
if you are crafty- i love this cross stitch thing my moms friend made me ..its framed and its so pretty..has our names, says ONE LOVE, and our wedding date
Wine rack with bottles of wine-you can get special labels with their names on it and their wedding date
a gift certificate to a nice dinner- it comes in handy when wedding planning since some people run low on money and date nights
Towels with their monogram
spa treatment for the two of them to spend some couple time together
