My friends recently got engaged and shortly after I bought them a gift off their registry. I am now invited to their engagment party, do I have to bring another gift?
What is the protocol on this?

I would say not, b/c you got them an 'engagement' present already!

I'd just bring them a card, they know you gave them an engagement present already.

Absolutely not. My former neighbor had sent us a check right after she found out we were engaged. I was not expecting her to give me anything at our eparty. Although I guess it depends on what you got her. If it was something that was only 10 dollars, then I'd say...maybe you'd want to get them something. But if you spend at least 20 on it, that's fine. I guess it also depends on how close you are with the couple. I got my FSIL and brother a wedding planner book when they first got engaged. (They got me a ring holder.) Yet, we both got each other additional gifts for our eparties.
