I know this isn't Nassau, but Huntington is close to Nassau...anyway, there is a great Italian restaurant called La Cucina (sp) or the Renaissance Cafe, both in the village.

Re: engagement party

when my fiance and i were looking we found out that for that many people it was actually more affordable to have it at our local firehouse vamps club and have an inexpensive dj and have the food catered in. the renting of the firehouse included unlimited beer wine and soda.

the cost per person at a restaurant ended up being too much for us

-just a suggestion

I just booked my engagement party at the West End Cafe in Carle Place. They close the restaurant for you for a saturday or sunday afternoon. The most you can have is 90 but 70-75 is what they prefer. The food is supposed to be excellent. Good luck with your planning, my wedding is the same day :)

MY engagement party was at the Paparazzi restaurant by Roosevelt Fild Mall in Westbury. Great food and prices. and they also have a room with dance floor.

Try the Memorare Club on Jackson Avenue in Seaford. We booked our engagement party there for February 14th. It is a beautiful Knights of Columbus hall that does it's own cooking.
The food is really great!

All depends on what you consider reasonable. Some might think $35 reasonable, others $15....

we did a local lodge. Cost ??? if I can remember correct $21 pp, unlimited open bar.
They supplied linens, china, set up, food, bar, waitresses, bartender, cake. We supplied decorations, DJ, and favors. Total of everthing for about 60 guests was about $2500, but I go FH a second cake, special for him.

Waterzooi in Garden City is really nice and food is so good. They have fondue's and pots muscles(not sure if I spelled that correctly...LOL) that are great. Not sure what the prices are for a party but maybe they will negotiate for a large brunch or something. What about renting out Big Daddy's in Massapequa? Great cajan type food. Baci in Westbury is excellent. It's Italian.

If you are into this kind of thing, there is a place in Garden City, International Buffet, on Stewart Ave. It's right near RF Mall. It's very inexpensive, and they have a private party room that I am sure can acomodate that many people. We had our E-party there and it was wonderful.
