So FI parents are throwing us an engagement party in Sept in their backyard. FI is making the invitations and I was wondering how you would word the inside. I was thinking
Please join us in celebrating the engagement of G & S at our house on Sunday Sept 26, 2004. Dress is casual.
Then we would include direction cards etc. Does that sound right or should we word it more formally? Word it so that it sounds more like its coming from the parents? Thanks for the help

Re: Engagement Party
That sounds good, if you want it to sound like it's coming from his parents, maybe something like Mr and Mrs X invite you to celebrate the engagement of G&S and then the rest.

Re: Engagement Party
Here is what i want to put on the front with a picture of us:
There is no moment of my life when you are not a part of me; you hold my heart; you guard my soul; you guide my dreams so tenderly And if my will might be done, and all I long for could come true, with perfect joy I would choose to share eternity with you
or is this one better:
Across the years I will walk with you - in deep green forests; on shores of sand: and when our time on earth is through, in heaven, too, you will have my hand
Do you think that should be saved for something else..sorry for all the questions..i've never done this before

Re: Engagement Party
I like the first poem but do you think it's too much for an engagement invite?

Re: Engagement Party
The first one is nice but I understand what you're saying about it being too much. I think it is ok but maybe something a bit more cutesy would fit nicer. It is a pretty poem though.

Re: Engagement Party
I do love it and I think you should definitely save it for some use at the wedding but maybe for the engagement party something lighter.
I did a very very very very simple saying.
He loves me? He loves me not? He loves me! We're tying the knot!
