Engagement Party???
Registering before your engagement party is a very good idea, because people will want to buy you gifts!

Engagement Party???
I guess you should... I found out my FI godmother is throwing us a surprise engagement party next Sunday. So, let's just say we don't have time to register. I believe his godmother asked if we are and my mom said no. So his godmother is telling everyone to give us money. Besides, I never knew you were supposed to get presents at an engagement party? We live together so we don't really need anything, except furniture. :) Good luck!!!

Engagement Party???
We had one that we registerd for. Since we live together we didnt need much but we put stuff on it we normally wouldnt buy. However-we only got about 5 things from the lists. We got a gift from everyone, some gave money but mostly we received lenox and crystal. We got so much crystal (vase, candle holders, clocks etc) we had to turn our curio cabinet into the crystal cabinet!!! So from our experience, dont expect to much from the registry but a few people did buy off of it and it was great! Think of it like a birthday or anniversary- would you not bring a gift? We didnt want to get gifts but were told we would get them anyhow so we figured to register for them. Good luck!!

Engagement Party?- Not neccessarily
When we got engaged, we knew we were going to have a 2 year engagement and really wanted a party to celebrate us. We didn't expect gifts, so we didn't register. We did get quite a few but they were great. Whether you want to register before hand just depends on your expectations. Good luck

I just had my party last weekend....
and we registered beforehand. Only a few people purchased gifts off the registry, but it`s still good to have.

Engagement Party???- We didn't
We got engaged last June but we are not getting married until this September. Our engagement party was in August'00- we did not want to register b/c it was too far away from the weddding that whatever we picked out that did not get bought then may not still be in stock for the wedding/showers and our tastes might have changed. I found that the people at our party mostly gave us money and cute little stuff to help plan the wedding.Welcome New Vendors
