i got engaged last july and getting married sept 9,2007. do you guys think that it is inappropriate to have an engagement party this sept?? please be honest if you think it's silly:)

I don't see why not. I was never aware of any time limit on an e-party. Not to mention theres still a year to go to the big day! eta: Also that way you have something really fun to look foward to from now till next year!

AHH!! you are my twin in so many ways! LOL I got engaged last June actually (the 23rd) but it was supposed to be around 4th of July-- FH changed it to throw me off... and I'm getting married on 9/9/07 also!!!! I just had my e-party this past July 9th and it was fantastic!!
We had a long engagement so we wanted the party to be about a year-- year and a half before the wedding, so we waited!! We were also debating having it in September but we were so excited, we didn't want to wait... but you could DEFINITELY have it in September-- even if you and your FH had it on the same date, one year before, it's totally appropriate-- and I think that would be a cute idea... let me know if you need anything else (suggestions on where, etc)

That is the perfect time for an e-party!!! One year before is a good amount of time between it and the wedding. We had ours almost exactly a year before. We got engaged in dec., had it in march and will be married in feb.
Even if it was the month before your wedding, it's your e-party and you can have it whenever you want!!!!!!!!!!
