Engagement party

Hi girls,
Would anyone be willing to tell me how much they spent on their engagement party if they paid for it themselves? I've had some issues with my family lately so they won't be helping and FH family are all out of state.
I don't know if it would be worth it for us to spend the money???

Sorry but I didn't have one! I would say at home with a good caterer, drinks, cake..maybe $1500? It's just a guess though.

I am having one at my parents house this weekend...with about 70 people, a tent, caterers, drinks etc...it is costing about $1500...my FH and I are paying for it ourselves. I didn't want one to tell you the truth, I will let you know if I changed my mind after the fact!!
