Morning ladies, I have a dilemma. My mom wants to throw us a small engagement party but my FH REALLY does not want one for various reasons. How can I break the news gently but firmly to mom?

We didn't have an e-party either...FH mother was insisting...
All you need to say is that it is not our wish to have one....Me and (FH's name) have discussed this and we don't want one... Thank you for offering but maybe you can help with something else down the line.

Thanks, I like that way. I have to develop a thick skin bc something tells me many people will have ideas and suggestions but we have to do what's right for us.

yes, develop that thick skin now because everyone will have an opinion to share with your about YOUR wedding.
try doing a search for queens bridal and their vendors. i prefered seeking out and booking seperate vendors that were not only exactly what i wanted, but that fit my budget.
