Re: Engagement party
I am open to both nassau and Suffolk. I definately dont want to go out east though. I checked 56 fighter, maine maid inn, and main event. The liquor kills the price but I have to have some sort of alcohol.

What about only having one or two types of alcohol to help keep costs down? Such as offering only red and white house wines, or a 'signature' drink.

Re: Engagement party
I am having mine at The Maine Maid Inn, we only got beer and wine. There is a bar in the other room, if people want top shelf. You can negotiate the price. I did.
You can also try the Ivy Cottage in East Williston.

I guess anywhere from 25-35$ pp. My sister had hers and got 28$ pp including beer, wine and soda. Obviously I dont want to have it at the same place. I dont know if she got lucky or what. I will have anywhere from 65-85 people.

Re: Engagement party
There is a beautiful K of C in Oceanside that people have weddings at. They include open bar and everything and are VERY reasonably priced. We had my parents 25th anniversary party there and it was fantastic!

Re: Engagement party
We did ours at the Rocky Point FH North Shore Beach Co. I knew a girl who was a member of the Ladies Aux. and she got us the place for free, just a $300 deposit we got back. The room was big, nice oak bar and dancefloor. We made the apps there, had the dinner catered, had a full bar, decorated it and everything. It was soooooooo nice and my parents spent very little on it (maybe $1200?)
